Well today he would have been 32 weeks, so that means only a few more weeks until he can start to try eating from a bottle and not the feeding tube! That is one of the goals he needs to reach before he can go home. He also needs to weigh 2000 grams or more and yesterday he finally gained a little weight so we're on our way. He weighs 1450 right now, which is 3lbs 3 oz so he is up one ounce from his birthweight. His feedings got increased to 4cc's every 3 hours and every 12 hours they will increase it another 1cc as long as he is doing well with it. Hopefully this will help him to gain weight a little quicker. I did get to help give him a bath the other day and he seemed to really enjoy it, especially having his hair washed. He has quite a bit of hair to comb through already and it's a bit unruly in the back! Other than that he is doing well, he just needs to sleep and eat now so he can grow. Shaun had to go back to work on Tuesday and it's been a little weird being here by myself, especially since I was so used to his help! We are both counting the minutes until he'll be back on Friday night for the weekend. I'm feeling better each day as well and I got good news at my wound center appointment yesterday, I should only have to have the wound vacuum on for less than one more week! Originally they had told me it would probably be on for up to 2 months. I will definately be excited to get it off and finally not be hooked up to any machines!
Emerson arrived at 30 weeks due to severe pre-eclampsia and HELLP syndrome. He just turned a year old and every day is most certainly an adventure!
